Toise is a textile sculpture to wear and live in, it can take the form of a poncho or a tent.
During my residency in Iceland I took a solo trip and everywhere I went I was either wearing or sleeping inside Toise. It was a week-long piece of performance art.
With this project I want to propose a reflection on a new way of experiencing the territory. Our society with its geopolitical borders limits and regulates the movements of the contemporary human being. In our modern and globalized way of life we should rethink a new way of citizenship, a world citizenship, with human beings free to live and move anywhere. A terrestrial territory without borders or conflicts.
