Some time ago I heard about Rope Piece, a performance by Tehching Hsieh and Linda Montano, tied together by an eight-foot rope for one year.
I applied this process to my idea of artistic residency: exchanging eyes, wearing a metaphor of blindness, letting artists I live with show me the world.
I spent time with eight artists, following them tied to a rope. This process interfered with daily activities.
Rope, a platonic surface, an umbilical cord, a challenge for body, mind, and soul.
I shaped my reality through their perspectives.
