Rooted in the histories and futures of the earth’s increasingly fragile ecosystem my inquiry during my SIM residency explores the notions of destruction and recovery, repair and mending. Through my work I see to forge relationships between personal, cultural and natural histories -- making visible a state of mind, a way of perceiving and connecting information and ideas across time and space in ways that are not entirely visual in nature -- and in doing so, address various notions relation to the passage of time, careful observation, the accumulation of knowledge and the shadow of memory.
