My project focuses on the approach "Queering documentary photography" to explore the lives of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Reykjavik, Iceland. Combining photography with fine art techniques, it challenges documentary boundaries by examining authorship, participation, and the diverse experiences of queer persons.

Despite Iceland's progress in LGBTQIA+ rights, challenges persist, such as combating stereotypes and rising discrimination. The project investigates these issues, emphasizing the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community in Iceland's low population. Through active participation and engagement, the project aims to empower and build community, allowing individuals to authentically share their stories and experiences, capturing the diversity of queer identities.
