Here in Korpúlfsstaðir, I rediscovered an inner quiet to start hearing softer impulses again. From this sensitive, reflective space, I began capturing portraits of entities that might dwell within it.
Through the residency, I explored a range of media—DIY drypoint techniques/ monoprints, seaweed sculptures, and ink drawings—each guided by the objects which somehow found way to me. A seaweed leaf became sculpting material, bird feathers transformed into writing tools, and a milk carton served as a surface for drypoint printing. Each element became part of the landscape itself—perhaps even reflecting the landscape as an entity in its own right.
